A Spring Wedding or two

 I thought you might like to see what I have been up to in my absence. I had the great pleasure of working on Orlagh and Michael's wedding flowers in April. The bride was quietly confident in knowing what she wanted and that was roses, roses, roses. I had supplied the flowers for several of her friend's weddings, so she was relaxed with me from the start. It really was such a smooth operation from beginning to end.

I understand why some people don't care for roses, they see them as formal flowers and somewhat old fashioned yet the symbolism of the rose is very strong, it stands for love.I tend to prefer the more informal cabbage type roses, but I do love them all, and even though our garden isn't very big I can't resist the temptation to buy one or two new ones each year. I have lots of buds in the garden at the moment just waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to come out. I used to prune my roses in March but realised I was missing out on early blooming, so this year I have lots of roses blooming early and I am very excited about it.

The bridesmaid's dresses were the same shade as the deepest pink rose in their bouquets, which consisted of memory roses(dark), akito (med) and aqua (lt.)as well as snowball viburnum and pink spray roses.



My lovely niece Carina was married on Saturday to Mark, sadly we couldn't attend but here they are looking gorgeous and so happy.Congratulations to both happy couples.<3<3

Are you a sucker for packaging?

Image from here . I most certainly am, beautifully packaged goods like those above make me drool. Simple packaging too, really does it for me. Take Bonne Mamman  http://bonnemaman.us/  for example...it's those lovely checked lids for a start, then the wonderful black and white labels that look handwritten. It's not only that,  what about all the clever things that people do with the jars, once the contents, (and they are none too shabby either), have been consumed. I love the simple packaging on some of the items Jamie Oliver has for sale on his website. http://jamieoliver.com/ . Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

It's Halloween Time! Actually it's still the middle of September, but at the Disneyland Resort, Halloween is in full swing, having officially kicked off the season on September 15th. It's always fun to have something new to do at Disneyland and both kids were really excited to be celebrating Halloween already. We didn't quite make rope drop today. The park opened at 8am, with Disneyland opening at 7am for Extra Magic Hours. It was 8:30am when we parked, and following our usual strategy, we started in the park that did not have Extra Magic Hours. DCA has transformed for Halloween! I love the entrance! I'm always happy to see more Nightmare Before Christmas in the parks. And there was a Photopass Photographer at the entrance taking pictures for guests too. Before we start doing rides, I wanted to make sure we do a few of the special Halloween specific things. Cars Land has been totally transformed and looks amazing. WDW Monday, Magic Kingdom and Finally trying the Beaches and Cream Kitchen Sink - 11/20/17

It's our last day of vacation here in Florida. Let's wrap this one up. The day started in the Magic Kingdom. But the lines! Everyone was starting their day here apparently. First ride of the day was the monorail to get over to the park. And to start the day for the parents, we get... Coffee! Being so crowded we planned our day around the rides that swallow a lot of people without having to wait around too long. Rides like Mickey's Philharmagic. And other rides like the Carrousel. Trying to make our way over to the next ride and the pathways were gridlocked. It's difficult to fathom this many people being here at once. Earlier I had grabbed Fastpasses for Splash Mountain, which is one of Ian's favorite rides back home. The logs here are a little different though with everyone sitting side by side plus the addition of lapbars. Ian insisted on sitting in the front. Please don't throw me in that briar patch. Thankfully we made it out of the briar patch unscathed too
