It's good to be young....


if only for a little while! As I walked to the shop on Monday morning, the fallen leaves where all around, I just couldn't resist it, I shuffled through the middle of them, kicking the leaves in the air. I was on the main road, people were on their way to work, but I didn't care, I was having fun.

I blame my new Cath Kidston skirt, it has little toadstools all over it and an elastic waistband, and when I wear it I feel like my 3 year old niece Nancy. All that was missing was a pair of these.

When I was a little girl I drove my poor mother mad, every time we went shoe shopping I had to have red patent leather mary jane's, nothing else would do. It is amazing that these shoes can still be bought today, and even in ladies sizes, there must be a lot of people out there as weird as me!

It really has turned quite Autumnal here now, but I don't mind, I love Autumn, I somehow feel more alive in this season. I have been planning a series of workshops for the shop, the furniture painting is still proving very popular, so I have added stencilling and decoupage , also patchwork for beginners, and Christmas wreath making, and Kathleen, the owner of the shop is doing one on giftwrapping. The response so far has been very good, as there isn't really anywhere doing these kind of classes in Antrim.

Today, I am off in search of fabrics, as I need to be making lots of things for Christmas, I shall let you see what I find.

Are you a sucker for packaging?

Image from here . I most certainly am, beautifully packaged goods like those above make me drool. Simple packaging too, really does it for me. Take Bonne Mamman  http://bonnemaman.us/  for example...it's those lovely checked lids for a start, then the wonderful black and white labels that look handwritten. It's not only that,  what about all the clever things that people do with the jars, once the contents, (and they are none too shabby either), have been consumed. I love the simple packaging on some of the items Jamie Oliver has for sale on his website. http://jamieoliver.com/ . Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

It's Halloween Time! Actually it's still the middle of September, but at the Disneyland Resort, Halloween is in full swing, having officially kicked off the season on September 15th. It's always fun to have something new to do at Disneyland and both kids were really excited to be celebrating Halloween already. We didn't quite make rope drop today. The park opened at 8am, with Disneyland opening at 7am for Extra Magic Hours. It was 8:30am when we parked, and following our usual strategy, we started in the park that did not have Extra Magic Hours. DCA has transformed for Halloween! I love the entrance! I'm always happy to see more Nightmare Before Christmas in the parks. And there was a Photopass Photographer at the entrance taking pictures for guests too. Before we start doing rides, I wanted to make sure we do a few of the special Halloween specific things. Cars Land has been totally transformed and looks amazing. WDW Monday, Magic Kingdom and Finally trying the Beaches and Cream Kitchen Sink - 11/20/17

It's our last day of vacation here in Florida. Let's wrap this one up. The day started in the Magic Kingdom. But the lines! Everyone was starting their day here apparently. First ride of the day was the monorail to get over to the park. And to start the day for the parents, we get... Coffee! Being so crowded we planned our day around the rides that swallow a lot of people without having to wait around too long. Rides like Mickey's Philharmagic. And other rides like the Carrousel. Trying to make our way over to the next ride and the pathways were gridlocked. It's difficult to fathom this many people being here at once. Earlier I had grabbed Fastpasses for Splash Mountain, which is one of Ian's favorite rides back home. The logs here are a little different though with everyone sitting side by side plus the addition of lapbars. Ian insisted on sitting in the front. Please don't throw me in that briar patch. Thankfully we made it out of the briar patch unscathed too
