Holiday!!!

In a couple of days we will be winging our way to sunny Portugal for a family holiday. I shall be so glad to turn my back on all this dreadful weather we have been having here, and to soak up a little sunshine and relax and unwind. I am sorry I don't mean to gloat, I am just very excited and ready for it. I was looking up images of Portugal here, and thought you might like to see some of them.










It looks lovely, don't you think? I shall be having a break for a couple of weeks, but really look forward to seeing what you have all been up to when I return. As a contrast to the above photos, this is one I took of my courtyard last week when the heavens opened and pelted out hailstones.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort

It's Halloween Time! Actually it's still the middle of September, but at the Disneyland Resort, Halloween is in full swing, having officially kicked off the season on September 15th. It's always fun to have something new to do at Disneyland and both kids were really excited to be celebrating Halloween already. We didn't quite make rope drop today. The park opened at 8am, with Disneyland opening at 7am for Extra Magic Hours. It was 8:30am when we parked, and following our usual strategy, we started in the park that did not have Extra Magic Hours. DCA has transformed for Halloween! I love the entrance! I'm always happy to see more Nightmare Before Christmas in the parks. And there was a Photopass Photographer at the entrance taking pictures for guests too. Before we start doing rides, I wanted to make sure we do a few of the special Halloween specific things. Cars Land has been totally transformed and looks amazing. Fred and Rebecca's Classic White Wedding Flowers, Lainston House

Rebecca's bouquet, a classic mix of Avalanche roses, white spray roses and gypsophila. Bridesmaids carried hand tied posies of massed gypsophila. A simple, elegant buttonhole of a single white rose for the men. Corsage of white rose, spray roses and gypsophila for the ladies.  The outdoor ceremony flowers at Lainston House, garden urns filled with an elegant design of massed gypsophila sit either side of the pavilion, a co-ordinating design of massed gyp sits on the ceremony table and the chairs are decorated with little posies of white gypsophila. The aisle is lined with lanterns and is just about to be decorated with scattered fresh rose petals.  The pavilion at Lainston House, decorated with simple designs of massed gypsophila ready for the wedding ceremony. M assed white gypsophila, roses, spray roses and hydrangea atop a tall cocktail vase make a stunning and very elegant high centrepiece for the Dawley Barn...

Tanaka Farms 2017 - Pumpkin Patch

Welcome to Tanaka Farms! Technically it's Fall, but you wouldn't know it based on the weather here. High 80s and no clouds in the sky. We'd originally planned to go to a pumpkin patch weeks ago, but the temps were in the high 90s! A few of our neighbors took the 45 minute drive south with us. Our timing was great this morning. We arrived just a few minutes before opening at 9am. Nice shirts! Apparently everyone else decided to spend their Sunday morning at the pumpkin patch too. We were just at Disneyland yesterday. It was every bit as crowded here. Oh boy. Someone got that kid a map. Parking is free here. Entry is just $3. For $10 you can get entry, a wagon ride, and entrance to the petting zoo. Kids 2 and under were free. Before it got too busy we decided to get the wagon ride in. We've got a whole family of Mickey and Minnie ghosts.
