How to: DIY Fall Wreaths

Hình ảnh
Aren’t fall wreaths the best? We sure think so, which is why we recently hosted the 2nd annual wreath making workshop for California Women for Agriculture – San Diego Chapter (CWA) . This event helps CWA raise funds for the organization and lets members create something special for their home. With a mixture of proteas in an array of colors and shapes to leucadendron and colorful fall foliage and fruit, wreaths were made by the dozens and good times were had by all. I love trying all sorts of new chip flavors, but my brother Patrick might just love them a little more. On a recent visit to Colorado, he surprised me with 9 flavors to try! The kids are really into trying all the chips too. Alli likes them based on the color of the bag. Ian doesn't like anything too spicy and prefers the sweeter ones. On the bottom row, we have multiple chip flavors returning from past years. In 2013, we were introduced to Chicken and Waffles and Cheesy Garlic Bread . 2014 brought Wasabi Ginger kettle chips . In 2017, Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers did not make the 3 finalist, but this semi-finalist was picked up as a Walmart exclusive. So how were they? Well. Boulder Canyon Pumpkin Pie - A tasty sweet chip. It tasted like pumpkin pie spice. More like a dessert chip. Boulder Canyon Turkey & Gravy - It was a savory chip. The dominant flavor was the gravy, and the sage really came through. Not my favorite. Boulder Canyon Peach Cobbler - Wow, this was a real

The Grateful Table

It’s always a treat to attend ‘Farm to Fork – Field to Vase' events, but this week, in a vineyard right on the 50-yard line between Napa and Sonoma, CA, the human spirit came together in a very unique and special way. Over 500 people gathered in the Napa-Sonoma Wine Country community to honor and support people affected by what was the largest wild fire in the history of California. Farmers, chefs, floral designers, and tourism officials, were in attendance and most importantly, the first responders, the fire fighters, police force, EMTs, even dispatchers who received 1000’s of phone calls for help amidst the October blazes. Visit California, Outstanding in the Field and destination partners Visit Napa Valley, Sonoma County Tourism, and Visit Mendocino County sponsored what was called ‘The Grateful Table’ . In many ways this event marked the beginning of the recovery in the wine country with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards fire recovery efforts. It was the perfect fal

International Protea Association: Explore the New Facebook Page & Instagram

Absolutely Love Protea? If so, then you need to check out the new International Protea Association (IPA) Facebook Page and Instagram . In September I traveled to South Africa to attend the IPA Conference and Pre-Conference Tour. During my visit I had the opportunity to tour several protea farms and meet some amazing farmers from across the globe. Feeling extremely inspired by my new friends and hating the idea that it would be at least two years before we’d meet again, I wanted to find a way to stay in touch. After reaching out to the IPA members in attendance, creating an International Protea Association Facebook Page and Instagram was the solution. It’s our hope that these platforms would provide us all a way to stay connected between conferences. Finally, after two months, the Facebook Page and Instagram are up and running... and we couldn't be more excited. Since 1984, the IPA has served as a link in the Value Chain of global commercial protea production. It offers r

WDW Monday, Magic Kingdom and Finally trying the Beaches and Cream Kitchen Sink - 11/20/17

It's our last day of vacation here in Florida. Let's wrap this one up. The day started in the Magic Kingdom. But the lines! Everyone was starting their day here apparently. First ride of the day was the monorail to get over to the park. And to start the day for the parents, we get... Coffee! Being so crowded we planned our day around the rides that swallow a lot of people without having to wait around too long. Rides like Mickey's Philharmagic. And other rides like the Carrousel. Trying to make our way over to the next ride and the pathways were gridlocked. It's difficult to fathom this many people being here at once. Earlier I had grabbed Fastpasses for Splash Mountain, which is one of Ian's favorite rides back home. The logs here are a little different though with everyone sitting side by side plus the addition of lapbars. Ian insisted on sitting in the front. Please don't throw me in that briar patch. Thankfully we made it out of the briar patch unscathed too
