Ciara's Vintage Cream and Burgundy Wedding Flowers, Rhinefield House

Hình ảnh
For her wedding in Valentine's week, Ciara chose a colour scheme of burgundy and gold and a very soft, romantic vintage look for her flowers. Now we  all know what happens to the price of red/burgundy flowers in Valentines week and here is a lovely idea for introducing a touch of the colour whilst still keeping the look soft and romantic. Skimmia, a lovely little shrub with pale burgundy berry like buds that are absolutely perfect for this look. Vintage, bouquet in creams, golds and burgundy with a touch of green.Perfect for a winter wedding, Ciara's was in February. I've used Vendela roses, skimmia, lisianthus, paperwhites (for a touch of spring and the scent) with mixed foliages. A gorgeous compliment for an all over vintage styled lace dress. Burgundy and cream vintage styled bouquet, perfect for the bridesmaids who wore burgundy. Again, it is a mix of roses, skimmia, lisianthus and paperwhites with mixed foliages. For her February wedding Louise chose a lovely colour scheme of cream, gold and ivory and a very pretty but classic look.  Gold, cream and ivory wedding bouquet using Vendela roses, gold skeleton leaves, white lisianthus and a touch of rosemary for Louise. That just leaves me to say thank you so much Louise for asking me to design and create your wedding flowers for you, I hope you had a fabulous day.

Bridesmaids bouquet made with individually wired cymbidium orchids. My sister did not take as many photos at the Wedding Fair as I had thought, and so I took a few at home two days after, so the wired flowers are not as fresh as they were on the day. They have lasted surprisingly long though. I painted some calico fabric with primer and then chalk paint, added some panelling and' Flowers on my Table' using a copper paint. I thought it would perhaps be an idea for weddings, to have a personalised backdrop for the photographs, maybe with initials, or words that mean something, even a scene or some love birds and scrolls. I think people were intrigued with this idea, but could not quite visualize it. I will have to work on it for next time. I did speak to someone who was also exhibiting at the fair, who decorates hotel rooms and marquees for events, she was particularly taken with it, so I will have to keep in touch with her. I made up some signs and hand-painted them, these can b

Last but not least, it's the turn of the Arden Suite. It's January ( or at least it was) and again I have given the flowers a distinctly wintery feel but using the fresh green and white colours of the approaching ( we hope) Spring.  Ideas for January wedding flowers, the Arden Suite at New Place is decorated with a fresh green and white scheme with lots of candlelight to create a really warm cosy atmosphere for a winter wedding reception.  Winter wedding flowers at New Place. Here I have combined tall table centres of roses, ranunculus, paperwhites and winter foliages with low designs of a co-ordinating wreath around a candle within a storm lantern and a generous top table design in sections with candles in storm lanterns in between. The mix of high and low designs helps bring colour and flower at every level for extra impact.  Tall, wintery table centre in a cocktail vase using large ivory roses, ranunculus and paperwhites with pine and a trail of ivy wound round the vase for

Hello....anybody there!

Please accept my apologies for my long absence, there are lots of reasons for it but I won't bore you with the details, I am back, and glad to be back. Yesterday was the day of the Quirky Wedding Fair, an event that I was participating in. It all went swimmingly well and I met lots of lovely brides all very excited about their wedding plans. The event was very well organized, and there was a steady flow of people all the way through the day. I was very pleased with the end result and will be exhibiting there again. My colours were pale pink, grey and a touch of copper. My stand was simple with a less is more vibe about it. I wanted the flowers to speak for themselves. I had painted a calico backdrop in shell pink with grey lines and copper lettering for Flowers on my Table, the overall effect was very feminine and calm. My flowers were tulips, hyacinths and orchids. The hyacinth scent was totally intoxicating, and was a great talking point. Image from  here . My two sisters very ki

Part two of the flowers I did for the wedding showcase at New Place in January and it's the turn of the gorgeous Bristol room all set out as it would be for a wedding ceremony. The Bristol room at New Place all set out for a wedding ceremony. To compliment all that beautiful plaster and stonework, I chose a scheme of antique pinks. Vintage pinks and a distinctly wintery look for these stand designs for the fireplace at New Place. The rose is called Sahara and it's a beauty. Here I've combined it with viburnum, freesia and pine, a stunning combination for a January wedding. Co-ordinating mantlepiece design in antique pinks and vintage winter style Vintage winter wedding flowers at New Place, the Bristol room. Stand designs are perfect for either side of the fireplace and they can be moved to the Arden Suite after the ceremony for the wedding breakfast. The beautiful rose, Sahara is perfect for this look, I love the way the golden light of the late afternoon sun is reflecting

Here at last, some of the photos from the January Wedding Showcase at New Place. A chance to see just how beautiful this venue can look when all set out ready for a wedding. We gave this one a distinctly winter theme to show couples what a lovely time of year this can be to get married.  The dining room at New Place dressed ready for a wedding ceremony. Silver lanterns and candles line the aisle and the ceremony table is decorated with a winter themed long and low design incorporating more candles.  Winter themed long and low design for the Ceremony table at New Place.
